Say goodbye to P0871 headaches. The Independence Series Billet Valve Body provides a true hydraulic solution to one of the most common issues affecting the 68RFE: the Solenoid Switch Valve and its problematic overdrive circuit leaks.

By completely removing the overdrive circuit from the Solenoid Switch Valve, this design eliminates pressure loss at the Overdrive clutch, addressing the leak-related failures that commonly plague the 68RFE.

  Please note that national backorders on new solenoids and new valve bodies may increase lead times.

  If you need a valve body as soon as possible and your truck does not currently have solenoid circuit codes, select an option without a new solenoid or new valve body. You can simply transfer your existing main solenoid pack and auxiliary valve body with lockup solenoid onto your new valve body.

  The torque specification is 51 in-lbs. Begin in the center and work outward in a spiral pattern. Go over each fastener three times, starting from the center each time. Do not simply click each individual fastener three times in succession.

  If you are concerned about having the proper torque wrench or following the correct torque procedure, you can send your core to us first. We will transfer the necessary components, verify the proper torque procedure, safely package your completed valve body, and ship it back to you.

  ² New Valve Body Programming Requirement

  New valve bodies include a new lockup solenoid that requires the updated PI curve to be programmed into the truck.

  A dealer-level scan tool is required for programming, such as wiTECH 2.0 or EZ Lynk. Some transmission shops may also have the necessary equipment, so we recommend calling around to confirm programming capability before ordering.

  Failure to program the new PI curve can result in torque converter failure.
